New Bronze Sculptures Added To Our Collection

An extensive collection of stunning new bronze sculpture are available to view on our website, from traditional wildlife and animals to stunning figurative dancers and portraits. Richard Cooper and Company work with UK sculptors and designers to create stunning and unique foundry bronze sculptures. Products range from the flamboyant figurative work of Landanski, through to the detailed wildlife studies of Michael Simpson. All bronzes are produced using the lost wax method. Each bronze is decorated and finished either using traditional patinas or by hand painting with acrylics and enamels. Prices start at £25.

Bronze has been valued from the earliest civilisations in Greece, Egypt and Rome to current times today. It has been used to make many things like utensils, weapons, furniture, statues, and monuments. In fact virtually anything that needs strength and must wear indefinitely.

Fascinating to realise that a foundry from the old world would employ similar techniques to todays. Naturally there have been improvements over the generations but the system remains intact and true to the heritage. The same high skill level to manage the intense heat generated in the process is needed, yet at the same time a delicate hand has to create the rich patina associated with bronze. A product from the ancient world would look similar if crafted today.

Jack Vettriano Valentine Event Raises £86,000 for Charity

The 2010 First Minister's Christmas card painted by Jack Vettriano has raised £86,000 for charity. The original oil painting and limited edition prints of the image were sold at auction in St Andrews on Friday raising a staggering amount for these amazing charities.

The original painting - Let's Twist Again, featuring a dancing couple at a festive party raised £68,000 while a special collection of limited edition prints went for £18,000. The original painting which was expected to sell for £25,000 was unveiled by Mr Salmond at the National Gallery of Scotland in December.

The money raised on the night will go to Bethany Christian Trust, Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres, Quarriers and Teenage Cancer Trust.

Alex Salmond said: "Jack is a great supporter of good causes and his distinctive style is recognised around the world. He has proven himself time and again to be Scotland's painter of the people."

Previously declined to display any of Jack Vettriano's works, the National Galleries announced on Thursday his self-portrait The Weight will be exhibited at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery from September 2011.

Record number of visitors attend Jack Vettriano exhibition

Jack Vettriano's exhibition, Days of Wine and Roses has come to an end, the first of a three date tour of his original works. The array of figurative images has attracted a record number of visitors from across the UK to Kirkcaldy Museum with over 45,000 people attending the exhibition in just five weeks, a record breaking number for the Museum and Art Gallery.

The record breaking exhibition was reported to be the museum’s most successful event in 85 years with people travelling from all over the world to see the show and on the last day of the exhibition people were even queuing round the block- This showing was not only an amazing event with great numbers but a fantastic boost to Kirkcaldy and Fife's cultural presence and economy.

The exhibition showcased an eclectic mix of originals ranging from dark, seedy, mysterious paintings, known to more colourful and bright contemporary images taken from his visits to Milan and the Monaco Yacht Club who commissioned him to create a series of paintings to mark the centenary of their flagship vessel, the Tuiga.

The brand new paintings were exhibited along with previous pieces to mark 20 years of Vettriano working as a full time artist and will be touring Europe with the second showing at London in July/August and Rome in September, dates to be confirmed.

You are invited to view a forth coming exhibition of works by Lorenzo Quinn at the Enid Hutt Gallery - running in conjunction with an exclusive feature of original pieces by the leading sculptor at the Halcyon Gallery, London. The exhibition will run from the 21st of November until Christmas.

Internationally renowned sculptor Lorenzo Quinn is regarded as one of the leading contemporary sculptors in the world. Inspired by the great masters such as Michelangelo, Bernini, Carpaux and Rodin, Lorenzo’s monumental sculptures transmit emotion and meaning. His passion and strongly held political and religious views evidently flow through his work.

The multi award winning sculptor has reached many heights with his amazing pieces of figurative bronze art and is Included in many private collections throughout the World which lead to many prestigious commissioned pieces.

Work undertaken includes the likeness of Saint Anthony, in commemoration of the Eighth Centennial of the Saint's birth. Lorenzo's sculpture was blessed by the Holy Father in Saint Peter's Square before it was placed in the Basilica del Santo in Padua in 1995. He has also been commissioned by United Nations to produce a stamp for their collection, as well as placing several monumental sculptures though out the UK & Europe.

For a short period of time his stunning limited edition reproduction sculptures will be touring the UK, along side an exclusive exhibition of original works at the Halcyon Gallery, London. In a rapid rise to fame he has become one of the most popular and successful living artists in the world. His reputation is international, not only as an exhilarating and revered artistic talent but also as a style icon. Todd White is the creator of highly collectible and much sought after items of designer wall décor, and his work more so than any other has become the thing to have on a wall.

Born in 1969, Todd White came from humble roots. During his twenties he seized upon an opportunity to relocate to Hollywood, where one of his key career spells came at Warner Bros. Studios. Through character development he began to forge his own artistic style and became part of the lead design team for several internationally renowned animation series, including SpongeBob SquarePants.

His desire to reveal his subjects’ innermost thoughts provide timeless scenes of attraction and intimacy; beneath the exaggerated features and textured skin of his characters there is truth, both ours and theirs. We experience the subjects in Todd White’s work every day, offering us intrigue and interest, changing the way we perceive the people we encounter and the roles we play around each other. New Jack Vettriano Limited Edition Prints

We are delighted to be able to announce the release of an exclusive collection of 5 new images from the UK's most popular, and yet most controversial, contemporary artists.

The exclusive 5 new images 3 of which were taken from the Love, Devotion and Surrender exhibition shown at the Kirkcaldy Museum and Art Gallery in June 2006 are each limited to a very small edition of only 250 copies worldwide. A stunning example of Vettriano’s work, these chosen images are already popular with his many fans and in particular featured in the collection is one of the most meaningful paintings to Jack, ‘Long Time Gone’ which features Methil power station which is scheduled to be demolished soon.

Born in Fife, Scotland in 1951, Jack Vettriano left school at sixteen to become a mining engineer. For his twenty-first birthday, a girlfriend gave him a set of watercolour paints and, from then on, he spent much of his spare time teaching himself to paint.

In 1989, he submitted two paintings to the Royal Scottish Academy's annual exhibition; both were accepted and sold on the first day. The following year, an equally enthusiastic reaction greeted the three paintings, which he entered for the prestigious Summer Exhibition at London's Royal Academy and his new life as an artist began from that point on.

Over the last twenty years, interest in Vettriano's work has grown consistently. There have been sell-out solo exhibitions in Edinburgh, London, Hong Kong and New York.

2004 was an exceptional year in Vettriano's career; his best known painting, The Singing Butler was sold at Sotheby's for close to £750,000; he was awarded an OBE for Services to the Visual Arts and was the subject of a South Bank Show documentary, entitled 'Jack Vettriano: The People's Painter'.

From 1994-2007, Vettriano was represented by Portland Gallery in London but the relationship ended in June 2007. Since then, Vettriano has been focusing on a variety of private projects, including the launch of a new book, and painting of a portrait of Zara Phillips as part of a charity fund-raising project for Sport Relief, the experience of which was captured in a documentary broadcast on BBC1 in March 2008.

Vettriano divides his time between his homes in Fife, London and Nice.
