The Enid Hutt Gallery brings the work of incredible Scottish artists to you

As a Scottish art gallery, we are proud to bring you the works of incredible and talented Scottish artists. The figurative works of Jack Vettriano, Peter Howson and Alexander Millar are all represented, and incredibly unique. Countrymen Jack Vettriano and Alexander Millar's work is familiar to many, although polar opposites in subject matter; Vettriano's sophistication and overt sexuality on one hand, to Millar's shambling and comical men and characterful wives on the other. Peter Howson's work has a feeling of fantasy; powerfully built figures, often grotesquely rendered, depicting an underlying feeling of raw and brutal aggression.

For landscape paintings, Scotland has beautiful and incredible countryside, and it's not surprising that many artists derive influence and inspiration from its breathtaking views. The landscapes from Mary Batchelor and Pam Carter show a serene side of Scotland, of its beaches and hillsides, using bold strokes and vivid colours. Ken Paterson's photographic work draws its subject matter from the beauty of man-made structures and innovations, such as the Forth Rail Bridge. But this covers such a small selection of artists and subjects. For more, take a closer look at our collections for a Scottish art gallery that brings the best of paintings, sculptures and more.
