Early Years
Andy hails from the northeast of Scotland and discovered his love of both welding and art whilst still at school. From an early age, his work combined both talents and he produced his very first sculpture whilst still at school. After leaving full time education, Andy became a welder and developed his metalworking skills but he could never shake off his creative muse! A return to art was inevitable!
A second exploration into the world of sculpture saw Andy crafting pieces for his family and friends. He also produced various works to raise money for local charities. This took his unique art into the public domain and it wasn’t long before there was significant interest in his pieces. It wasn’t a difficult decision to decide to showcase Andrew Ballantyne sculpture at the Enid Hutt Gallery!
