About Gary Walton

Born in Worcester in 1962, Gary was clearly artistically gifted and loved to paint as a child. However, he did not consider a career as an artist and so completed his schooling before seeking full time employment. He continued to paint in his spare time and, buoyed by the support of his wife, later decided that it might be a good idea to take his art a little more seriously!

Dreamlike Quality

He continued to work part time for financial security but became a semi-professional artist. His artwork immediately began to garner attention and found its way into a number of private collections. The stylised compositions featuring buildings and coastal scenes are exquisitely observed. There is a dreamlike quality to every piece which imbues the pictures with a hint of fantasy and intrigue.

Coastal Original Art

Gary Walton originals show his love of the coast. This shines through in his artwork often which often depicts light houses, boats, cottages and harbours. The viewer feels themselves being drawn into his imagined locations and can sense the influence of Salvador Dali. Gary Walton greatly admires Dali’s graphic ability, creativity and originality. He believes that Dali’s painting possessed a magical quality and strives to achieve a similar feel in his own compositions.
