Mary Shaw

Mary's artwork contrasts loosely painted layers with areas of stunning detail such as little field mouse popping their head above the undergrowth. The accuracy of the wild plants, berries, flowers and animals shows her passion for the British wildlife and her interest in rare species. Born in Bristol, Mary Shaw has spent much of her life in the UK. However she has lived in both Zimbabwe and Cape Town for around 4 years which widened her experiences of other countries and their landscapes and nature. After returning to the UK, Mary could see just how different Britain and Africa were and it seems to have renewed her love for the rich wildlife that we are lucky to have.

Mary Shaw's artwork is delicate and detailed but also eye catching with bold colours and confident brushwork. You can see her passion for the subject matter in every piece.
