Highly Regarded UK Artist

Building a following over the past decade or so, Michael Ashcroft has had his artwork shown at many galleries throughout the UK, as well as having multiple solo exhibitions. Not only that, but his artwork has earned him a raft of awards over the last few years such as - to name a few - BoldBrush Award Winner 2017, Brownedge Art Festival Winner, and 3rd place in the Buxton Spa Prize. He has also been part of the Royal Academy Summer exhibition, New English Art Club Exhibition and the Royal Society of British Artists, as well as being a member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.

Capturing the Light and the Dark

Michael uses pallete knife and brush in his works to sublime effect. His goal is to capture the light and the dark, and this is something which we think he does extremely well. We are not the only ones, as Michael has become one of the rising stars in the UK art scene over recent years. Showing a deep and passionate connection to many aspects of British urban and rural life, his work allows you to see the beauty of these locations, throwing the viewer right into a vivid and deep experience of the place. Looking at any Michael Ashcroft originals makes you wish you could wander into the world which he creates.

Enhancing the World Around Us

With that said, the great thing is that these worlds which he creates in his paintings are so realistic. They are not fantastical, romantic renderings of Britain: they are bound to reality. At the same time, they show the viewer those elements of beauty already there in our surrounds. It is this ability to artistically reframe and enhance the world around us which marks him as a true and exciting talent.
