Scarlett Raven is a British contemporary artist that creates wonderful large scale textural paintings in oils and mixed media. Scarlett Raven's artwork is emotional and looks into symbolism through powerful landscapes and seascapes. Her sculptural paintings have been produced as high quality limited edition boxed canvases available both framed and unframed here at Enid Hutt.
Scarlett Raven studied at Central Saint Martins, London and graduated in 2009. She now has collectors both across the UK and around the globe, and as a young artist she has already had several solo exhibitions in some prestigious London galleries.
Scarlett Raven's paintings are an incredible mix of thick impasto oil paint and other materials such as sand, fabric, clay, artificial flowers and other found objects. They are worked into a mixed media collage piece with a three-dimensional quality that draws you into the landscape. Scarlett's work contains both light and dark, looks at life and death; it is a fascinating contradiction. Each artwork contains emotions and symbols mainly from nature, such as poppies, roses, birds and horses.
A creative family background helped to drive Scarlett Raven's passion for collecting, making and creating from a young age. Her father was a successful saxophonist and Scarlett has was surrounded by music as a young girl. Her love of music later took her to collaborate with various musicians to create album artwork.
In Scarlett Raven's 'The Eleventh Hour' Series we see landscapes of red poppies. Scarlett teamed up with The Royal British Legion to help highlight the importance of remembrance and symbolism of the poppy. The first painting from her Eleventh Hour series was gifted to the Royal British Legion for auction to raise funds to support the Armed forces. We have some of the thought provoking Scarlett Raven prints available now with free UK delivery.
