Caroline Shotton – We Can Be Heroes

Relinquishing the barriers of ‘high-brow’ art, Caroline has carved her own path into the art world, offering viewers a light-hearted portrayal of the complexities of emotion, expression and character in her pieces. As with all Caroline’s pieces she has tried to capture human emotions in her cow paintings.

Heroes and Villains by Craig Davison

20130425-025202.jpgAgain this spring sees Craig Davison launch another four new awesome limited edition pieces to his collection, faultlessly capturing the essence of youth, what it means to be a child swept away on a wave of imagination inspired by childhood adventures.

If those spidey senses are already tingling or you fancy yourself as a super spy, then his latest collection could be for you.

One of his pieces in particular ‘Ah, Mr. Bond, I’ve Been Expecting You’ depicts a dashing super spy armed to the teeth with special gadgets.

Davison says ‘The inspiration is obvious; my childhood! I try to capture the endless summer holidays spent out on my bike with friends, rescuing Mexican villages from bandits!’

He uses shadows in the background of his pieces to portray the hero in the fantasy world created by the child in question, from Spiderman to Bond super Spy’s and A Monkey king skilled in Kung Fu.20130425-025311.jpg

Alexander Millar

20130424-232830.jpgEnid Hutt Gallery are thrilled to launch the exciting new spring collection of seven new pieces from contemporary artist ‘Alexander Millar’.

The trademark collection consists of four small limited edition sketches, which will make a delightful gift or accompaniment to his previous pieces.

The two larger paper images depict a nostalgic theme, “The Pigeon Fancier” and “Gone Fishing”, which are already selling very quickly.

Finally “Day Break” the edition on canvas depicts a more atmospheric scene, conveying the early morning start to a day, with the familiar ‘gadgie’ character.

In this collection Alexander Millar cleverly brings ever more humanity into his paintings, his defined depiction of these working men, allows us to associate with them like never before. Their lives and loves, trials and tribulations, hopes and dreams, are laid out before us on canvas.

Mallett’s Palette – An Exhibition of Work from the TV Personality Timmy Mallett

We are delighted to announce a forth coming exhibition of original and limited edition artwork by Timmy Mallett. Timmy will be opening the exhibition on the 23rd of March with a preview evening from 6:30pm – 9pm with the exhibition continuing until the 8th of April 2012.

Born October 1955 in Marple, Cheshire and has a flair for art after being encouraged to draw and paint as a child. Timmy loves painting and reaches for his Mallett’s Palette at the drop of a brush. He works in acrylics and oils as well as watercolour. Much of his inspiration comes from the UK and trips all across the world.

Timmy’s striking visual style was an instant hit early in his career. He achieved cult status on BBC Radio Oxford and Manchester’s Piccadilly Radio and later on TV-am. He is most known for his loud shirts, colourful glasses and the giant pink foam mallett, Mallett’s Mallet and his little one Pinky Punky. Timmy Mallett ArtNot only is he a great TV and Radio personality and artist but a very successful musician. A member of the band Bombalurina, selling over a million copies of his record single “Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini”. The song entered the charts at number 23 and rose to 13 the next week and finally to number 1 on the 19th August 1990 where it remained for 3 weeks.

It’s not surprising Timmy Mallett decided to pick up a paint brush considering how colourful a personality he is. Timmy studied History of Art as part of his degree at Warwick University and his paintings can be bought from prestigious galleries across the country. In recent years he has enjoyed a keen artistic friendship and interaction with Rolf Harris. Rolf says “He is an enthusiastic and exciting artist…I’m knocked out by his work.”

Timmy Mallett - Still Life Artwork Timmy’s artwork will be available to buy on the evening and throughout the exhibition. Early viewing is recommended to avoid disappointment.
