The five images are an excellent example of the great talent which Jack has taught himself over the many years since being bought a set of watercolours for his 21st birthday. His carrer in art began in 1989 when Vettriano submitted two canvases for the Royal Scottish Academy annual show where both paintings sold on the first day and Vettriano was approached by several galleries following.

The controversial artist has since broken records and seen his most famous original works sold for hundreds of thousands with The Singing Butler being sold in auction for £744,500 which was actually rejected in 1992 by the Royal Academy summer exhibition.

New Collection of Prints from artist Iain Faulkner

Coming to our galleries very soon are a set of four new limited edition prints by Iain Faulkner.

Auction Day by Iain Faulkner
Auction Day by Iain Faulkner

Another superb addition to his portfolio of limited edition works, which no doubt will be sell out editions before long.

Each piece is stunning in it’s own right with amazing levels of detail and the usual crisp white shirts and braces.

Auction Day to the left is a detail image from his Car Auction theme featuring a buyer viewing a stunning  old racing car. The three levels of depth from the man standing in the foreground to the car itself and the image of the car racing in it’s day all show the amazing talents of this great Scottish artist.

Horizon by Iain Faulkner

Horizon, to the right, is another car piece but this time gives the contemplative ideal of standing on a quiet beach, parking your sports car and standing looking out to sea. Again, the levels of detail are quite spectacular giving the viewer the perfect opportunity to lose themselves with the sound of the waves.

They all give the impression of wonder and provoke the thought of entering the painting to be one of the individuals for the time being, finding out what might be happening at that particular moment.

Stunning New Spring 2015 Collection

Trinity by Caroline ShottonEnid Hutt Gallery are delighted to showcase a stunning new collection of artwork from some of our top artists as well as some new additions.

Spring is in the air and that can only mean one thing – the release of a whole new selection of stunning limited edition art.

Our new releases continue to showcase works from some of the country’s finest contemporary artists. The collection welcomes back old favourites such as Kerry Darlington, Craig Davison, Caroline Shotton and Peter Smith. It also introduces a brand new artist – realist painter Andrew Kinsman.

Cafe de Paris by Andrew KinsmanAndrew Kinsman is a self-taught artist and musician. Andrew Kinsman has painted commissions for celebrities and royalty alike, and has recorded soundtracks and albums with music novelties such as Noel Gallagher and English Rock Band, Kasabian.

His new collection was inspired by a painting which Andrew completed in 2009, called ‘Jeff’. This painting was in turn inspired by a lucid dream. The real life experience which later manifested into that dream was derived from a gig he did that same day. In between performances, bubbles were being blown against a black backdrop which acted as the stage. Kinsman was fascinated by the intense colours in their reflections. The dream saw an old man blowing a bubble showing as much detail in these reflections as his weathered skin, He knew he had to make this his next painting. ‘Jeff’ was the catalyst for this most recent set of works.

Blast Em Chewy! by Craig DavisonMany of our top artists have released very strong work to compliment previous collections. Craig Davison being one of the main features this Spring with his amazing new Star Wars sketches. These four new sketches are a great accompaniment to any of the larger canvas editions like; BMX-Wings, Super Troopers and Full Force to name a few. Framed at £225 they would make a great gift for the typical Star Wars fan or a collector of Davison’s work.

New abstract unique editions by Kerry Darlington

Peacock_Framed-600x1030

Influenced by art and design of the late 19th and 20th century while using modern materials to create her unique style for which has become so well known for.

A Welsh artist, born 1974 in Rhyl, North Wales. Kerry Darlington was heavily inspired by magical fairy tale picture books and stories during her childhood, and had a particular love for Arthur Rackham’s intricate pen and ink work. This influenced her to take a degree in Illustration, with intentions of becoming a children’s book Illustrator. Following this she discovered ‘Art Nouveau’ and the Pre-Raphaelite artists’. She found this work so hauntingly beautiful that it absorbed her and it still has a profound effect on her own art.

For the last seven years Kerry has built a reputation for her original, decorative designs which became hugely popular, focusing primarily on trees and nature.The_Fall_Framed-903x903

She recently took the decision to release her book Illustrations as Unique Edition prints. Her first being the ‘Midnight Garden’ which sold out within a month and her second release ‘Mad Hatters Tea Party’ was so popular that it sold-out rapidly before obtaining high values on the secondary market. Her book illustration work recently included imaginative illustrations adapted from ‘Peter Pan’ by J.M. Barrie and ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ by Enid Blyton.

In May 2012 she was awarded ‘Best-Selling Published Artist’ at a ceremony by the Fine Art Trade Guild and again recently in 2014.

Closeup_04-300x265On her original pieces, Kerry Darlington works with texture, acrylics and resin. She works in layers to build up depth and create more light. She uses resin as a medium rather than a varnish on the original paintings which lets light penetrate the layers and illuminate them as if they were at the forefront.

With her ‘Unique Editions’, whilst in essence they are prints, each one is some way unique. She creates small 3D additions which are hand-worked individually and adhered to the print. The background is also hand embellished, and all the work has resin hand-applied, making each print look like an original painting. The effect is so good it is often mistaken for original work.Ophelia-920x716

Building on her success she is releasing an ongoing varied selection of her figurative, abstract and illustrative pieces as ‘Unique Editions’ to fulfil demand. This work is of a more personal nature which she has been working on privately over the last 7 years and which will form much of her work today and in the future.

Her work has also recently been featured on Channel 4’s television series Posh Pawn – Paul and Jackie Ellingworth offered the 7ft x 4ft portrait by the Welsh artist. The piece hung in the couples staircase of their home for the past two years and was bought with the help of a small family inheritance and redundancy money Jackie received when she lost her job three years ago.

Mauna_Kea_Framed-903x726In early 2012 they became proud owners of a painting titled ‘Sakura’ (Japanese for cherry blossom) which came from Darlington’s private collection at a total cost of £25,000. Although the couple never wished to part with Sakura, an unfortunate run of bad luck inevitably forced them to contemplate pawning their precious painting to ease their financial difficulties.

The couple were informed that artist Kerry Darlington wanted to do a unique limited edition print of ‘Sukura’. When artists produce limited edition prints of their work, the increased exposure can cause the value of the original to gain significantly. The outcome could not have been better for the couple as their beloved painting could fetch around £90,000+ in the next few months.

Kerry Darlington has had an unbelievable journey over the last 5-6 years. Like any artist she started at the bottom selling works on eBay for a very small sum and moving forward with her imagination and abilities to creating a series of stunning paintings and unique limited editions.Beezyjet-920x918

Impressions of London by Alexander Millar

20130510-202748.jpgVery occasionally in the art world, one is privileged to witness history in the making. Alexander Millar and his evolution as an artist over the past three years is one such occasion.

Millar, an entirely self-taught artist began his career more than twenty years ago, painting watercolours and taking inspiration from landscape artist Ashley Jackson. But it is arguably in the last three years that Alexander Millar has started to become one of the most significant artists of the contemporary art world.

Starting in 2010, Millar was invited to exhibit at the Great North Museum: Hancock in Newcastle; an exhibition which took Millar’s work to new heights. His skilful depiction of buildings, cranes, viaducts and docks which dominate the characters walking or cycling past. 20130510-202957.jpgThese elements of ‘real life’ were increasingly present in the scenes, and he expertly began to pull the story away from single figure or couples, the dads with kids and dogs; to create the big picture, the context.

Being hailed as the Lowry of the north-east by respected art critic Sue Steward was just the beginning for Millar. Following his revered ‘Working Man’ exhibition in Newcastle, Millar went on to exhibit a series of work devoted to the working men and women of Sheffield and its steel industry presenting this work at the Magna Trust, a museum on the site of Templeborough Steelworks.

Now painting towards another major museum show, this collection of London scenes marks a juncture in Millar’s work, as he transitions from ‘gadgie-man’ to an artist who is drawing comparisons to Lowry, Turner and Monet.20130510-203120.jpg

The stunning collection of London scenes are available as limited edition prints, signed and numbered by the artist in only 95 edition. If you would like to view the new collection click here to visit our website.

Caroline Shotton – We Can Be Heroes

20130425-024035.jpgLeading contemporary artist Caroline Shotton has not only re-defined the perimeters of modern day portraiture, but has shed a new light on our appreciation of art and the role it plays in our day to day lives.

Relinquishing the barriers of ‘high-brow’ art, Caroline has carved her own path into the art world, offering viewers a light-hearted portrayal of the complexities of emotion, expression and character in her pieces. As with all Caroline’s pieces she has tried to capture human emotions in her cow paintings.

We are proud to present this new collection of cow art from Caroline, this latest release ‘We can be Heroes’ set to be extremely popular and paves the way to a whole new dimension and subject in her paintings.

20130425-025231.jpg
If those spidey senses are already tingling or you fancy yourself as a super spy, then his latest collection could be for you.

One of his pieces in particular ‘Ah, Mr. Bond, I’ve Been Expecting You’ depicts a dashing super spy armed to the teeth with special gadgets.

Davison says ‘The inspiration is obvious; my childhood! I try to capture the endless summer holidays spent out on my bike with friends, rescuing Mexican villages from bandits!’

He uses shadows in the background of his pieces to portray the hero in the fantasy world created by the child in question, from Spiderman to Bond super Spy’s and A Monkey king skilled in Kung Fu.20130425-025311.jpg
