With all these exciting and affordable new releases from all of our top selling artists we are sure this Spring range has something for everyone, so why not start clicking (flicking) through our new online versions of these magazines or pop into the gallery today and see for yourself how art can enhance your home!
Not only is reading online a great, fast way of finding out what’s happening in today’s world of art but it will reducing your carbon footprint. Unlike a newspaper which is being distributed worldwide already, and has been argued that it can be almost equal to reading on paper. The magazines we offer are less available publicly as they are from galleries only and this means that it costs more in terms of ‘greenness’ to distribute these magazines by post.

This is where Yudu.com comes in, Washington Green Fine Art has invested in having their publication, the Fine Art Collector published interactively by Yudu who create amazing carbon neutral publications which work as if you are really reading the magazine. To make sure all YUDU digital publications are as carbon neutral as possible, they completely offset all their CO2 emissions by donating money to Carbon Clear, a leading carbon management company. They invest in projects that improve living standards in developing countries and which provide global climate benefits with clean energy projects and reforestation initiatives and their main goal is to eventually have everyone reading online.

So see what you think and have a read online and click here to read all our literature and magazines online.

New Doug Hyde Prints and Sculptures

Multi-award winning artist and peoples’ favourite Doug Hyde simply can’t go wrong. His fabulous new collection of heart-warming images and sculptures is now available online and in the gallery and is enjoying an ecstatic reception.

Stylish, engaging, and brimming with personality, these must-have pieces feature a delightful cast of characters, including both familiar faces and some new friends. Doug Hyde’s Artwork has an innovative style that speaks directly to the people’s emotions by summarising love, desires, wishes and dreams, and has turned him into a genuine artist of the people, for the people.

He brings together the naïve charm of his distinctive, uplifting style with an unprecedented compositional sophistication. While Doug’s artistic journey has taken him from monotonal figurative work to blazing technicolour narratives, these images deploy a new language both in terms of colour, and in a range of elegant formal devices which convey his artistic and personal messages.

Dazzling Cityscape Artwork by Henderson Cisz

Henderson Cisz paints in a very characteristic fashion with soft tones and paints many images of cities in a beautifully mood stirring style. Henderson loves to paint the diversity of urban life, bringing out the effect of weather on the appearance of the urban environment. Not only does this subtly affect the way the people in the painting are standing, but it affects the way the observer feels too.

A new exclusive signed limited edition Collector’s Box Set captures the very essence of these stunning images in a range of specially commissioned limited edition prints and a stylish full colour book. The stunning retrospective is packed with classic Henderson Cisz Artwork and finally provides some background to the art world’s international man of mystery.

A selection of these magnificent artworks are available to buy online. Browse our Henderson Cisz range to see them for yourself.

Bring Some Warmth to Your Room This Winter

Just because there’s a wintry chill outside doesn’t mean your home décor has to follow suit. The beginning of the year is a time that many home owners decide their home needs a fresh look.
By simply placing some art prints or metal wall sculptures on your walls, they can actually make quite an impact. Wall art is a necessary accessory in your home and is great to tie in with the room’s style and colour accent. In order to get the maximum effect in terms of adding character and focal point to the room, you need to decide where and how you want to hang them.
Below are some suggestions to help you decide how to get the best effects from your pictures:-

Modern Gallery Look: To create a modern art gallery feel, particularly nice in hallways, lobbies and stairwells, give each piece ample breathing room. Stand at the center of the first piece and take one swift, or two small steps along the wall. This is a good center for the next piece.

Above a Sofa: When placing artwork above furniture such as a sofa, you need to hang the picture about six to nine inches above the sofa, or at eye level depending on the size.

Cluster Arrangements: Tightly group an even number of pictures together to give a statement or a focal point. This works on either large or small wall spaces, depending on the look you want.

In a row: By placing an odd number of pictures in a horizontal line to each other gives balance and the sense of space. This works particularly well in hallways or stairwells.

By deciding where and how to hang your pictures, whether it be a tight cluster or a single print above a sofa, you can then determine the size and shape of the pictures you need to buy. You can even mix and match different styles to create a unique style of your own. For example if living in an older style building but have a more modern decor, you can simply have modern artwork framed in older style frames or even have an elaborate decorative mirror as the focal point above your sofa or fireplace.

If you’re looking for new artwork, now is the perfect time to look at buying, our sale is now on with discounts of up to 50% and many top artists with 20% off including Doug Hyde, Neil Dawson, Artisan House and Henderson Cisz as well as 10% off originals. Don’t miss out, sale ends 31st January and we deliver our wall decor uk and worldwide.

Tragic Death of One of the Country’s Greatest Contemporary Artists

It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic death of one of the country’s greatest contemporary artists – Govinder Nazran. Govinder died on Tuesday 30th December after an accident on Christmas Day which left him with severe head injuries.

Govinders art training began in Bradford in the North of England, where he studied Graphic Design from 1980-1983. After that he then went on to study for a Higher Diploma in Graphic Design, specialising in illustration, at Lincoln Art College.

After completing all his formal training he decided to move to London, approaching all of the major city publishers with his portfolio. It was there that he worked on illustrations for children’s books, and after 6 months moved to Cambridge where and continued working as a freelance illustrator.

Upon moving back to his home town of Saltaire in West Yorkshire, Govinder took up the position of designer for a greetings card company, which involved all aspects of product design and development. Following that he became a photographic art director, directing fashion shoots all over the world. He did this for the next year or so until 1993, when he decided to swap his hectic photographic job and lifestyle, for a quieter life back in Saltaire. He spent the next five years here in the UK, working freelance on card designs with major publishing companies.

It wasn’t until 1999 that he decided to enter the fine art market and approached Washington Green with his portfolio. Since joining them they have published over 40 of his designs and many into sculptures.
2009 would have been the tenth anniversary of Washington Green working with Govinder, a decade of the most amazing and creative art from one of the most talented, gentle and innovative artists they have ever had the pleasure of working with.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

‘It is often the brightest star that burns for the shortest time’.

As a mark of respect, we have withdrawn all Govinder artwork from sale until further notice.
