About Alistair
Alistair Marcol was the son of a Polish electrician. The family moved to Scotland when Alistair was just five years old. He discovered his love of and talent for art whilst still at school but decided to study Architecture when he entered further education. He then worked as an architect until he was made redundant in the 1990's. It was at this point that he decided to return to his art and he worked enthusiastically until his untimely death in 2013. His premature death does mean that these limited edition prints are in short supply and that there will be no further additions to the collection. Now is the right time to invest in the work of Alistair Marcol!
Scottish Watercolour Landscapes
Marcol specialised in watercolour landscapes and his work showcases Fife, the region that had become his home. His work is notable for the threatening skies which dominate the horizon and a fabulous use of light which captures the character of both the landscape and the structures that are the subjects of his creations. The pictures capture his love of Fife but without shying away from the sometimes bleak nature of scenes.
