Born in West Yorkshire in 1974, Simon Wright is a British artist who is extremely passionate about his work. Simon gained a degree in illustration but soon realised that his true calling was fine art. Illustrative work felt constraining in comparison to the exploration of his creativity that he could enjoy in painting his oils and acrylics.
Animals are the focus of much of Simons work. He combines elements of both illustration and fine art in his painting to produce a unique approach. A variety of styles are explored in his compositions which have met with popular acclaim. By painting realistic pieces, abstract works and tackling several styles in between, Simons portfolio is of almost universal appeal. Simon was shortlisted for the Artists and Illustrators Artist of the Year competition in 2012.
