Having graduated from art college, Debbie Boon first went into graphic design, before then becoming a children's book illustrator. After having also done work as a painter in commercial and private capacities, Debbie Boon began in earnest her career as an artist. Her work has a rich almost buttery quality. There is a depth and a thickness to the brush strokes. This leads to a depth of character in the places and the animals that she portrays.
