Allison Young
Allison Young's art is truly majestic. She is originally from Stirling, and indeed the otherworldly Scottish coastline and landscapes serve as inspiration for her work. Art was always a central passion for Allison, and one which was backed up with a huge talent. After having received First Class Honours at the Edinburgh College of Art, she was awarded a scholarship to undertake postgraduate study in the Netherlands. From there she went on to spend a year at the Łódź School of Art in Poland.

Art Inspired by Scottish Landscapes
Now based in Edinburgh, Allison travels around Scotland to build up her store of inspiration, often sketching in the field as she goes. She then brings back these slices of raw inspiration, fresh from nature, and transfers them onto the canvas in her studio with great care and attention to detail. It is frequently in Tiree and East Lothian where she heads to stock up on her artistic inspiration. The beautiful coastal landscapes in these areas are practically pieces of art already. It is no wonder they become such effect subject matter for such a wonderful artist as Allison.
