Mr Malcontent is an artist whose life is shrouded in mystery but who very much speaks through his artwork. We have a number of Mr Malcontent originals in our collection, and we are very proud to present this work to you. He is known to use a range of different media, from oils to acrylics, and mixed media techniques. He has no set programme, but rather uses the method in each case which is best able to convey the mood and message of each artwork. The Mystery Artist
We know very little about Mr Malcontent's biography, but we do know that he is from the North of England. He shuns interviews and other interactions that would have audiences thinking about him as a person outside of the work. Instead, by using a pseudonym and shying away from public exhibitions and events, he ensures that all the focus goes towards the way that he communicates through his work. Although we don't know exactly who he is, his mixed media, collage and oil-based artworks give a strong sense of a vibrant personality as expressed purely through the visual medium.

It is clear to see from the end product that he works hard on his craft. He has recently been mastering black and white paintings, experimenting with monochrome cityscapes being mapped onto old newspapers. His other mixed media techniques include the use of collagraph printmaking. He is able to use this to play around with a wide range of textures and patterns. The result is a body of work which is unique, exciting and visually rich in its many layers.
