Extraordinary Talent & Heart
Beatrix Potter started to cultivate her passion for illustration, drawing and painting in particular in the field of scientific diagrams of natural flora and fauna during her first trips to the countryside of the Lake District and Scotland. She then went on to delve into a deeper artistic and literary passion in the early 1900s, when she wrote the first legendary Peter Rabbit stories. She became very interested in fairytales, and began to weave her own magnificent tales, which resonate deeply in our minds up to this very day.
A Literary & Artistic Icon
Her visits to galleries in London such as the Royal Academy acted as a catalyst for her to grow her passion for art. On visits to the Lake District and Scotland during holidays, Beatrix Potter would enjoy sketching the animals that she would see. And, beginning with these sketches, along the stories that we have come to know, Potter found her creative calling.
