About Elaine Johnston

Born in Glasgow, Elaine Johnston was to graduate from Glasgow School of Art in 1997 and gained a further BA degree from the Royal Academy of Art and Drama in 2004. She then worked with the Department of Trade and Industry, the British Embassy and the Royal Family of Monaco in addition to creating backdrops for theatrical productions.

Award Winning Artist

From the outset, her work quickly garnered attention. She has been featured in publications across the globe and won several awards including The Young Achiever's Award for Scotland presented by Her Majesty the Queen at Buckingham Palace and the Design for Diplomat's, presented by the then Prime Minister Tony Blair at Downing Street.

Rural & Wildlife Themes

Having relocated to the village of Sorn, Ayrshire, Elaine was able to combine both family and work commitments whilst living in a rural environment. She now paints for both private individuals and the public sector. She is best known for her striking paintings of farmyard animals and wildlife and is sometimes referred to as the "Cow Lady"!
