Veronika studied at the Leningrad College of Arts and the USSR Academy of Arts, and went on to work as a silver-smith creating a very successful range of jewellery with her partner Ulian Benoni. They later moved to Prague, due to the political instability of the Soviet Union, where Veronika Benoni took to creating paintings influenced by the intriguing streets of Prague and the captivating architecture.
The mixed media artworks show layered buildings and structures that almost blend into one another and the texture and colours used in the painting echo the brick and stone of the cities. Individual architectural features are highlighted in the gold and silver leaf details that catch your eye; almost like sunlight catching on windows, tiles and the rivers.
