Sarah Spofforth McOuat
When you look at Sarah Spofforth McOuat originals, it will be easy to see that this is art that is going to put a smile on your face. Sarah's artwork has the capacity to create the ideal mood of levity and joy in any room. Sarah adopts a mixed media style which she has honed in order to create textural contemporary paintings that still have something of a rustic charm. Sarah studied originally in Interior Design at Manchester Metropolitan University. But all the while, her true passion was art, and whenever she had a spare moment she would be painting.

Scotland & Mixed Media Art
When she married her husband, who is by trade a farmer, she moved from the North West of England to Scotland. It was this new position in a farm in Scotland that led to her inspiration for her artistic career to develop. From her new studio (built into a corner of what was a cow's shed) she was able to experiment with different materials and media, as well as soaking up the aesthetic influence of her countryside surroundings.
Animals & Country Living
It should then be of no surprise that she has developed such an aptitude for painting pieces that focus on the beauty of farm animals, especially highland cows. As mentioned above, there is a whole lot of technically impressive skill going into these pieces. But then there is also something else which makes them what they are, and that is passion and joy. She clearly has great love for her animal inspirations, as well as a great love for the Scottish surroundings where she has been based for over 15 years now. This all comes through in her artwork of which we are big fans.
McSpoff Art - Artist on the Rise
It is not just us here at the Enid Hutt Gallery who like what we see, either. Although a somewhat late starter in the art world, Sarah has been extremely successful. Her family-run business McSpoff Art has now been on the go over 10 years. You will find her artwork in all sorts of places such as Blair Drummond Safari Park, The Lake at the Port of Menteith restaurant, Kings Home and Bar 10. She has also grown a wide audience in the private market, and her art is therefore to be found in homes across the globe, from New Zealand to America.
