Emma Davis is an award winning Scottish landscape artist with a distinctive style which always showcases her emotional connection to her subject. She is inspired by the many special locations of her life in Scotland. She is able to bring them into her artwork via experimentations with light and colour in a way that transcends representation, but instead offers an emotional dimension. Her talents come both from a life-long passion and a lot of hard work. We are excited to have a number of high quality signed Emma Davis prints at the Enid Hutt Gallery.

Emma studied Contemporary Art and Painting at the Glasgow School of Art for four years, capping it off with a sell-out degree show. But her journey with art started long before that. Emma has said that she remembers drawing and painting from a very young age at home. This interest was fostered by her parents, who made sure to take her to galleries and museums whenever possible. These trips always fed her imagination and left her awe-struck.
Critically Acclaimed Artist
Since graduating, Emma did not waste any time in pursuing her vocation. She was able to have a career making fine art from just about as soon as she had finished at the Glasgow School of Art. Along the way, she has picked up plenty of critical acclaim, winning awards such as the House for an Art Lover Award, Sir William Gilles Award, Miller’s Creativity Award and the Glasgow Art Club Award. As well as that, Emma was the youngest person ever to win The Alexander Graham Munro Travel Award, and among the youngest to have been awarded Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour and Paisley Art Institute diplomas.
Dreamlike Landscape Painting
It is easy to see why she has been such a success. Her landscape art is powerful and poignant, offering a dynamic interplay of texture and colour. Her artwork, whether the subject is an indoor scene or a natural landscape, has the kind of originality and authenticity that most artists are striving to attain. Pulling you into a vibrant and almost mystical world, Emma Davis's art manages to capture the dreamlike quality of life at its most beautiful.
