Capturing touching moments in time, the stunning artwork of Nigel Mason never fails to captivate. Inspired by the everyday interactions of his childhood in Yorkshire, Nigel has garnered an enthusiastic following and we are thrilled to present to you a carefully curated collection of Nigel Mason art including memorable signed limited-edition prints.
Nigel taught himself to paint by drawing everyday objects and studying the old masters. He was a frequent visitor to the Leeds art gallery and at the age of 20, he hitchhiked from Leeds to Paris so he could view a Picasso exhibition at the Louvre! His passion for art was matched only by his love of music. He was a member of a band for 20 years and played at the Glastonbury festival three times.
A diverse career saw Nigel work as a set designer and sign-maker for Yorkshire TV. He created the sign for Emmerdale’s Woolpack pub! Now that is a claim to fame! In his 50s he attained a Fine Art degree from Plymouth University and went on to teach art at the North Devon College.
Currently living and working in Ilfracombe, Devon, Nigel Mason can now focus on his art which he describes as "speaking of human behaviour and relationships". Inspired by landscapes, beach scenes and his own childhood, he paints entrancing compositions which are now highly collected. His subjects are set against fictional historic backdrops which feel at once nostalgic and unfamiliar.
This impressive collection of Nigel Mason art prints is well worth exploring and boasts a unified feel. The prints certainly lend themselves to being displayed as a group or series and would enhance any home or collection. It will be hard to decide which pieces to choose but we will leave that up to you!
